  1. Start with breathing exercises and your nonfiction song!
  2. Before reading discuss: Where does trash go after we put it in the can?
  3. Watch Mrs. Echols' virtual story time. There are some words that may be unfamiliar, so I'm including an image of the glossary.
  4. Discuss:
    1. What surprised you about where trash goes?
    2. Would it be healthier for the world if we had more or less trash? Why?
    3. What are ways we can create less trash?
  5. Recycled art challenge! What can we create that only reuses something that we already have? I absolutely loved this Bubble Wrap Flower tutorial. Make your own by following my slideshow below or by clicking on the link above. All you need is bubble wrap (I used an Amazon mailer after its 24 hour quarantine period), cardboard (or other stiff paper), scissors, paint/markers, scissors, glue and paper. I cut pages out of an old book to use rather than new paper. :) TIP: Don't give up when your first stamps are kind of wonky. The more you stamp the better ink/paint coverage you get on the bubble wrap.
