I was so excited to meet John Klassen (who wrote and illustrated I Want My Hat Back) on our field trip to the Blanton Museum.

Meet Mrs. King

It's been an honor to serve as the school librarian of the St. Francis School since 2013. SFS students inspire me with their wide-ranging interests, deep questions, and outstanding creativity. Each year I look forward to continuing to build our collections so that all students can see mirrors, windows and sliding glass doors represented in our resources. I also enjoy planning author visits, hosting Book Fairs, leading student-driven electives, and collaborating with faculty and families. I am passionate about encouraging curiosity, empathy and engagement in each of my students,

We often play Two Truths and a Lie in my electives to get to know so I thought I'd bring it to my bio! Remember, two of these "facts" are true (nonfiction), and one is made up (fiction)!
  1.  A few of my favorite hobbies are reading, exercising, traveling, playing with my dachshunds, attempting to watercolor, and searching for the best breakfast tacos in Austin.
  2. When I was little I wanted to grow up to be either a ballerina, an astronaut or a librarian.
  3. My preferred way to commute to SFS is by biking to the train!
Click here to reveal my lie! Did you get it right?
