CITATIONS
Even if you haven't been asked to create a bibliography yet, the chances are extremely good that you will be asked to cite your sources in the future. Think of the academic world as a collaborative space where we constantly are building on each other's ideas. It's nearly impossible to complete any sort of assignment without using someone else's ideas, but when you do borrow another's words, concepts, art, etc. you must give proper attribution. Without attributing your sources, you are essentially stealing another's intellectual property, and presenting it as your own. We call this plagiarism or academic dishonesty, the consequences of which increase every year you continue your studies. Don't fret though, there is a perfectly acceptable and encouraged way to use other people's ideas in your work, it's called citing your sources and creating a bibliography. The tools below will help you cite your sources, and wow your teachers with your academic integrity!
