Circulation: COVID-19 Policies

The health and safety of St. Francis students, staff and community are the most important considerations of the SFS Library's COVID-19 policies.  

Given that we cannot Clorox books, time is our best ally in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in library materials (source/source). The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) advises quarantining collection items for a minimum of 3 days as the most effective way to disinfect returned library materials (source).  Austin Public Library is currently quarantining returned materials for up to 10 days (source). 
  • The SFS Library will quarantine library materials for a minimum of 4 days before reshelving. 
  • Please anticipate waiting up to 5 days for books to be delivered to our curbside delivery point.
