Week 1: Spotlight Author: Mo Willems

  1. Locate your Mo Willems books! Choose one or more that you'd like to read. 
  2. Pre-reading:
    1. Do any breathing exercises that seem appropriate
    2. Determine if Mo Willems writes fiction or nonfiction. Do the correct cheer.
    3. Read your Mo Willems book, or watch a virtual story time linked below. 
    4. Extension activities:
      1. Mo Willems is currently doing a "Lunchtime Doodles" YouTube series. He's adding a new lesson daily at 1 PM. Click here to access the playlist of available episodes or look below for a link to episode 1. Watch and doodle along! (Ms. Echols will post a picture of my attempt to doodle!). Get paper, crayons, pencils or whatever you want to doodle with before you start! 
      2. Click here to choose your favorite Mo Willems activity to print and complete.
      3. Discuss: What do we love about Mo Willems? Which series is your favorite? Why? What can we learn from Piggie and Gerald or the Pigeon?
