PebbleGo will read aloud articles to your children!
DAY 1
Start with any breathing exercises.
We're going to be reading fiction and nonfiction today! What does that mean? Can you tell which book is fiction and which is nonfiction?
Watch the Very Impatient Caterpillar read aloud.
Define big words:
Impatient: wanting something to happen RIGHT NOW; not wanting to wait.
Metamorphosis: when a baby animal changes its form before it becomes an adult.
Chrysalis: a stage in a butterfly's or moth's growth. The little bag that they stay in while they grow their wings, and become adults.
Migration: when animals travel to different parts of the world based on the seasons.
Discussion Questions:
How could we tell the caterpillar was very impatient? What did he do? (complained, ordered pizza, asked questions, etc)
What happened when the caterpillar burst out of his chrysalis too early? (he fell on the ground because he didn't have wings yet!)
What advice could you give the caterpillar on how to be patient? In other words, what helps you be patient even when it's really hard? (answers will vary!)
What helped the caterpillar be patient? (deep breathes, being positive)
